The Rulers: The Vampire Authority

The series that we have much waited is going to be here to give us all the things that we need to know. Aside from the details that we have learned so far it seems that we also need to know things that will later on give us some questions that are left to be solved. As far as we know, we have known much of the characters and the relationships but we never had opened our eyes to the reality that they too exist. The Vampire Authority is a thing that we do not give much care to but this time we should since they will play a big role in the upcoming season.

The Vampire Authority is a body that is composed of seven dominant and ancient vampires. They are the most powerful vampire organization that directs the laws, disputes and sets the monarch in a respective place.

Powers of the Authority:

Make laws and settle disputes.

Choose the Monarch.

Impose judgment and True Death.

How did it come into power?

It was founded by the current member, Roman. When the vampire society is emerging and the search for a centralize power is at its height, the Vampire Authority seized that opportunity. With the use of powerful technologies, made a secret police and institutionalized every aspect of the vampire society. They are the ones that give the monarchs the power to rule. One of the monarchs namely Russell Edgington wanted to overthrow the Authority. He is the one that needs to fear because it was believed that a vampire’s power is based on his age. Russell was the oldest vampire in the world and thus he had the capability to destroy the Authority. As of now, Russell was able to escape and is coming back for this new season.

Roman—also known as the Guardian— is an ancient, powerful and imposing vampire. He is the Guardian of the Vampire Authority, and is the mastermind behind the mainstream movement.

Nora is a vampire who was "made" by Godric centuries ago. She is a ruling member of the Vampire Authority but in actual fact works as a double agent.

Dieter Braun is an ancient male vampire, who is a member of the Authority, who works as an "intelligence" specialist. Mature, self-possessed, calm and authoritative, with a piercing gaze. Dieter is extremely intimidating, despite his slender frame, and he enjoys using innovative methods to torture prisoners during interrogation.

Salome is an ancient vampire and a member of the Authority. She is a world class seductress and fiercely intelligent, commonly known for her "dance of the Seven Veils".

Rosalyn Harris is an ancient female vampire who originates from Prague, but has resided in Texas for the past 500 years. She serves the Vampire Authority as a Chancellor, and has hair high enough to interfere with air traffic, a homespun wisdom-spouting mouth and a firm hand.

Alexander Drew is an angelic looking, yet impetuous vampire. He was turned at the tender age of 9, and serves the Vampire Authority as a Chancellor. He enjoys smoking cigarettes and taunting everyone around him, including his fellow Chancellors.

Kibwe is an ancient male vampire of African descent. Described as a "gentleman", Kibwe acts as a Chancellor of the Vampire Authority and is quite liberal minded, and peaceful, believing in rehabilitation for lawbreakers, rather than punishment.
