The Vampire King: Denis O'Hare is back as Russell Edgington

If there is the Vampire King of Louisiana then there goes the Vampire King of Mississippi. For sure you know who this one is. Russell Edgington is one of the main antagonists in the story. He was a man that had been living for many millennia. So far you know who is because he was a vampire in this story. But you miss a lot of things if you only know that since he has a colorful background. If you want to know more about him then I will tell you in details.

“I want to gorge on human blood...because I LIKE it!” This might be the famous line that he had said. Russell was 2,800 years old vampire who was born in a Celtic tribe and taking the name Korun. He is the most powerful vampire that had existed in this world and thus dealing with him had a great toll for Sookie and others. He was a charming and polite at first but that can change in a snap and then reveal the true color that he has. He is a manipulative man and has the taste to be Machiavellian.

He has a lover who was a prince in Greece. When he fled from Byzantium, he met this prince and later converted him to be a vampire. It was learned that this prince had died and Russell would speak to the urn that had contained the remains of Talbot. As much as we know, he is focusing his goals in getting revenge to the Authority.

Before Season 3: Russell Edgington was an ancient Celt from the Carpathian Mountains and a Pagan Druid. He was made a vampire around the year 750 BC. 700 years ago. He had been served by werewolves that he had used to do jobs for him. He is the reason behind the death of Eric’s family. Eric knows that he was the one that had a black cloak and commands the pack of werewolves that had annihilated Eric’s family.

As what I have said, he was manipulative and thus he had his werewolves kidnap Bill and bring him to his mansion. He had knows that Bill had been under the Queen of the vampires in Louisiana. He wanted to offer him a job as a sheriff and extract information from him. He had plans to restore the natural order of the world so he uses violence to have it.

It was revealed in season 4 that he had escaped from the cement and silver grave that he had been buried. There is no enough evidence of how he had escaped or who had helped him. This season 5 he is going to go back.

The Vampire King of Louisiana is no other than Denis O'Hare who was born on January 16, 1962 and is an American actor noted for his award winning performances in Take Me Out and Sweet Charity. He is now best known for his role in HBO’s True Blood. Denis O'Hare was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, living in Southfield and Bloomfield Hills until he was 15, when his family moved to Wing Lake. O'Hare married his partner, Hugo Redwood, on July 28, 2011 in New York. Truly this man is fit to be the Vampire King for many films that he had worked in and for the awards that he had received including the 2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor.
